Barry Plumlee, LMFT

Barry is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. He grew up in the Joplin area, graduating from JHS in 1991. At College of the Ozarks in Branson, MO, he earned a BA in Psychology and Graphic Arts. After a few years in industry in Wichita, KS, he obtained a Master’s in Family Therapy from Friends University in 2003.

Barry has experience in outpatient, inpatient, crisis work, and more at community mental health centers and hospitals in OK, KS, & MO. He utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, or whatever modality the situation calls for!

He is married and is proud of his four grown children, an ever-growing family of bonus children, a grandson (more coming?), and various fuzzy animals! In his spare time, he listens to loud music, reads sci-fi, enjoys woodworking, and loves being among his family.

Fun Facts: Barry is a die-hard fan of Rush (the band), Silver Surfer, and Darth Vader. He has kept every comic book he’s ever owned, and still collects Hot Wheels!
